Miss Rylan is Three Months Old

It seems like just a couple of weeks ago that I was photographing Rylan as a precious newborn. I can't believe she is already three months old! Her three month session was so much fun and she was great the whole time. It's hard work being a model--it took all of about 30 seconds after the last frame was shot for Rylan to decide it was nap time!

Enjoy this video of some of my favorite images from the session...

Seniors in the Stockyards

A few weeks ago I had a blast photographing a group of high school senior girls. They suggested going to the Ft. Worth Stockyards for the photo shoot, and it ended up being a perfect setting. We found all sorts of great places to shoot--old brick walls, a rustic metal door, a tractor, and a turquoise wall that was a favorite spot. The girls were awesome models and so much fun to work with. I've posted a video for each girl that showcases some of my favorite images from the session.

If you're a high school senior this year and want some fun, non-traditional senior portraits that capture your personality, let's schedule a session! Give me a call at 817-781-6244 or visit my website at www.Saras-Studio.com

Too Cute at Two Weeks...

Many parents have asked me how long they should wait after their baby is born to have a newborn session. To get the sweet (and a lot of times sleeping) newborn look, I would recommend two weeks old or younger. After two weeks, they will start to move more, which makes it a little bit more challenging to get the cuddly newborn poses. And because they will be sleeping a lot, it's a great time to capture their little hands and feet--they'll sleep right through it!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing this precious newborn baby girl. She was right at two weeks old at the time of the session, and she was a great model. It was a really neat session. Not only was she adorable, but I went to high school with the new (and beaming!) Mom & Dad so it was fun catching up in between shots.

What a sweet baby girl she is! Just look at those little fingers and toes...

Rebecca & Tim's Engagement Session

This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing an engagement session for Rebecca and Tim. We managed to beat the heat by starting the session fairly early in the morning. The weather ended being really pleasant--and we were thankful for that! I've posted here a few of my favorite proofs--they're such a cute couple I just had to share. Next on the agenda is designing their wedding announcement using a photo from this session. I'll post that design once it's finished!

Gallery Wrapped Canvases

For a new, chic look to your next portrait, try a gallery wrapped canvas. This is different from a traditional canvas portrait in that the image is printed directly onto canvas which wraps over a stretcher frame. This "wrapped" canvas has a clean, modern look. Also, it does not require a frame because the canvas wraps around the sides. The canvas can simply be leaned on a shelf or mantel, or hung on the wall as is. Take a look at some of the gallery wrapped canvases that I have done for clients.

Here is a close-up of the wrapped corner.

This is one of my favorites. It now hangs by a pink ribbon in the baby's room.

When you book your next portrait session, I'd be glad to discuss these gallery wraps as an option for you!

Take care,

Scenes from Los Angeles

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit Los Angeles, California. It is a photographer's dream out there--everywhere you turn is another photo opportunity! Great architechture, fun characters, and just overall really cool stuff! Here are a handful of photos from the trip I'd like to share...

Photobucket
One of the many street performers in Santa Monica...he was awesome.

Going out to the Santa Monica pier/boardwalk.

Photobucket
I loved the colors of the rides at the little amusement park on the Santa Monica pier. Although I decided not to ride anything...

Photobucket
Venice beach. Super cool.

Needless to say, these are just a few of the fun shots from LA. I've got a lot more where those came from! It was a great trip, I'm glad I got the chance to go.

By the way, isn't the new blog design awesome?? I'm loving it. Thanks Kristi!

Alright, that's all for now!

Characters with Character

Fun and Funky Framed Alphabet Art!

Create a unique, personalized piece of artwork by spelling your name from an eclectic collection of photographed letters. This collection of letters has been compiled by Sara after photographing many different interesting, and rustic signs across the state.

The finished piece is matted and framed in black with glass, and would make a fun addition to anyone's wall. For three or four letters, there is also a "floating frame" option in which the photos "float" between two pieces of glass.

It's a great gift idea for those people who have everything!

You are not limited to only spelling a name--many words make nice art pieces, like "FAMILY", "LOVE", "LAUGH", "FRIENDS", etc. Also, you could use initials or a single letter.
