Many parents have asked me how long they should wait after their baby is born to have a newborn session. To get the sweet (and a lot of times sleeping) newborn look, I would recommend two weeks old or younger. After two weeks, they will start to move more, which makes it a little bit more challenging to get the cuddly newborn poses. And because they will be sleeping a lot, it's a great time to capture their little hands and feet--they'll sleep right through it!
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing this precious newborn baby girl. She was right at two weeks old at the time of the session, and she was a great model. It was a really neat session. Not only was she adorable, but I went to high school with the new (and beaming!) Mom & Dad so it was fun catching up in between shots.
What a sweet baby girl she is! Just look at those little fingers and toes...

I love these shots! Do you know where the headband came from?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteI'll ask the mom where the headband is from. It's so cute, I love the big daisy!
ReplyDeleteI want to get one for my soon to be niece! She is scheduled to arrive late September. LOL
